Overview
The ARP Pro Series Flywheel Bolt Kit is a high-strength replacement fastener set for Toyota 20R, 22R, and 22RE manual-transmission flywheel applications found in classic Toyota Pickup and 4Runner models.
Flywheel bolts secure the flywheel directly to the crankshaft and are subjected to substantial clamping loads, rotational forces, and repeated heat cycles. This six-bolt ARP kit upgrades the factory hardware with 8740 chromoly steel fasteners rated at 200,000 psi tensile strength, making it well suited to clutch replacements, flywheel installations, engine rebuilds, restorations, and performance builds.
The bolts use an M11 × 1.25 thread, 1.040-inch underhead length, and low-profile 12-point head specifically designed for the Toyota R-series flywheel application.

Pro Series Fastener Construction
The Pro Series bolts are manufactured from high-strength alloy steel and heat-treated before the threads are rolled and the fasteners receive their final machining. This production process provides the strength and consistent thread engagement required for a highly loaded rotating drivetrain connection.
The larger-than-stock shank and low-profile 12-point head are designed specifically for secure flywheel retention and proper flywheel registration on the crankshaft.
Installation Requirements

Install without washers

Apply Loctite 242 threadlocker to the bolt threads

Apply ARP Ultra-Torque Fastener Assembly Lubricant beneath the bolt heads

Tighten the bolts progressively using an alternating or crisscross pattern

Final torque: 85 ft-lb

Confirm adequate flywheel bolt-hole chamfer clearance before final installation
