Overview
The ARB 50mm x 80mm Differential Carrier Conversion Bearing is a tapered roller bearing used when installing a 50mm-journal differential carrier or ARB Air Locker into a Toyota 8-inch 4-cylinder third member originally equipped with 45mm-ID carrier bearings.
The bearing features a 50mm inside diameter, 80mm outside diameter, and 20mm overall width. This allows the larger 50mm carrier journal to fit the 80mm carrier-bearing bore used by the applicable 4-cylinder Toyota 8-inch third member without converting to a V6-style third member.
This bearing is intended specifically for differential conversions. It is not a replacement bearing for the original 45mm-journal carrier.

45mm to 50mm Carrier Conversion
Factory 4-cylinder Toyota 8-inch third members commonly use differential carriers with 45mm bearing journals. A later 50mm-journal differential carrier or applicable ARB Air Locker cannot use those original 45mm-ID bearings.
This conversion bearing solves that dimensional difference by combining a 50mm bearing ID with an 80mm bearing OD. The 50mm ID fits the larger carrier journal while the 80mm OD fits the applicable 4-cylinder third-member bearing bore.
This is different from the 50mm x 83mm carrier bearing used in Toyota V6/Turbo-style 8-inch third members. If the installed third member has an 83mm carrier-bearing bore, the standard V6/Turbo-style bearing is required instead.
