Overview
The Total Chaos +3.25-Inch Gen II Caddy Long Travel Kit with Boxed Lower Control Arms is a front suspension system designed to increase wheel travel, track width, strength, and off-road control on 1986ā1995 Toyota 4Runner and Pickup 4WD models.
Extended chromoly upper and lower control arms widen the front track by 3.25 inches per side and allow up to 12 inches of front wheel travel with 4WD when properly configured. The additional suspension width provides increased articulation while improving stability across rough terrain and during higher-speed off-road driving.
This version uses fully boxed and internally gusseted lower control arms for additional strength. The system also converts the factory torsion-bar suspension to a 2.5-inch coilover configuration using included weld-on 4130 chromoly shock hoops. Coilovers are sold separately.

Boxed Long Travel Suspension Design
Extending both upper and lower control arms increases suspension cycle while widening the front track for greater stability. When paired with the required extended 4WD axles, the system supports up to 12 inches of front wheel travel while retaining four-wheel drive.
The boxed lower control arms are internally gusseted for additional strength and incorporate secondary shock mounting tabs. These provisions allow a compatible external bypass shock to be added for further damping control and suspension tuning.
Factory upper ball joints are replaced with 1-inch I.D. uniballs featuring a heat-treated stainless steel ball and race with a PTFE woven liner. Urethane control-arm bushings replace the factory rubber bushings to reduce deflection and provide more precise suspension and steering response.
The included pre-bent 4130 chromoly shock hoops are designed around 8-inch-travel, 2.5-inch coilover shocks and require welding to the chassis.
