TOTAL CHAOS +3.25" Gen II Caddy Long Travel Suspension Kit

For 1986–1995 Toyota Pickup 4WD & 1986–1995 Toyota 4Runner 2WD / 4WD

Overview

The TOTAL CHAOS +3.25" Gen II Caddy Long Travel Suspension Kit is a high-performance front suspension system for 1986–1995 Toyota Pickup and 4Runner IFS platforms. Extended upper and lower control arms increase front track width by 3.25 inches per side, creating a total 6.5-inch increase while providing substantially more suspension travel than the factory setup.

The system converts the factory torsion-bar front suspension to an 8-inch-travel, 2.5-inch coilover configuration and provides approximately 12 inches of front wheel travel on properly configured 4WD applications. Upgraded uniballs, extended steering components, urethane bushings, braided brake lines, and reinforced control arms create a suspension package designed for serious off-road use.

Choose between Tubular or Boxed lower control arms, then select either the Long Travel Kit Only or the complete package with King 2.5-inch remote-reservoir coilovers and weld-on shock hoops. The same suspension system covers the full 1986–1995 application range, so no year-range variant is required.

  • Converts factory torsion bars to 2.5-inch coilover shocks

  • Choice of Tubular or Boxed lower control arms

  • 1-inch stainless-steel upper uniball conversion

  • Boxed-LCA configuration includes a lower 1-inch uniball conversion

  • Urethane control-arm pivot bushings with grease fittings

  • Dual-shock provisions for additional damping options

  • DOT-approved stainless-steel braided extended brake lines

  • Optional King 2.5-inch remote-reservoir coilovers and weld-on shock hoops

  • Handcrafted in the USA

Tubular vs. Boxed Lower Control Arms

Tubular LCA

The Tubular LCA configuration uses reinforced tubular/plated lower control arms with internal gusseting and secondary shock tabs. It provides the full +3.25-inch-per-side long-travel geometry while retaining the corresponding lower-joint configuration of the tubular system.

This is a strong choice for customers wanting the complete Gen II Caddy suspension geometry without stepping up to the additional lower uniball conversion included with the Boxed LCA system.

Boxed LCA

The Boxed LCA configuration uses fully boxed and internally gusseted lower control arms with secondary shock tabs for additional shock options.

The Boxed LCA system also includes a lower 1-inch uniball conversion, upgrading both the upper and lower suspension joints to uniball-based components for increased articulation and strength.

Both configurations use the same overall +3.25-inch suspension geometry and are designed around the same long-travel coilover platform.

Vehicle Fitment

Toyota Pickup

  • 1986–1988 Toyota Pickup – 2nd Gen – 4WD – IFS – Front

  • 1989–1995 Toyota Pickup – 3rd Gen – 4WD – IFS – Front

Toyota 4Runner

Fitment Notes

  • Does not fit 2WD Toyota Pickup models.

  • Fits 1990–1995 Toyota 4Runner 2WD and 4WD models.

  • Designed around approximately 3–4 inches of front suspension lift.

  • Increases front track width 3.25 inches per side / 6.5 inches total.

  • Provides approximately 12 inches of front wheel travel on 4WD applications.

  • OEM Toyota T100 4WD axles are required to retain 4WD and are sold separately.

  • Fiberglass front fenders are required.

  • Not compatible with 4–7-inch spindle or drop-bracket lift systems.

  • Welding is required to install the supplied droop stops.

  • King Coilover + Shock Hoop configurations require welding and grinding for shock-hoop installation.

  • Kit Only configurations do not include coilovers or weld-on shock hoops.

  • Kit Only configurations require properly matched 8-inch-travel, 2.5-inch coilover shocks to complete the suspension setup.

  • Recommended reference wheel and tire combination is a 33-inch tire with a 15 × 7 wheel and 3.75-inch backspacing.

  • Suspension travel and final ride height can vary with vehicle weight, spring rate, shock setup, alignment, and other modifications.

  • Cross-installing suspension components from other manufacturers may create geometry, alignment, or clearance conflicts.

  • Professional suspension installation, fabrication, welding, and alignment are recommended.
