Restore more consistent rear axle location with the Prothane Polyurethane Rear Panhard Bar Bushing Kit. Also known as the rear track bar, the Panhard bar controls side-to-side movement of the solid rear axle as the suspension travels and the vehicle corners.

This kit replaces aging factory rubber Panhard bar bushings with firmer polyurethane components that reduce unwanted lateral deflection. A more secure connection helps the rear axle remain properly located beneath the chassis for more predictable suspension response during cornering, acceleration, and braking.

The complete kit services the factory rear Panhard bar and includes three polyurethane bushings, a replacement metal inner sleeve, and Prothane Super Grease for installation. It is available in black or red polyurethane.

Panhard Bar Suspension Function

The AE86's rear Panhard bar laterally locates the solid rear axle beneath the chassis. When its rubber bushings deteriorate, the bar can move more than intended, allowing additional side-to-side axle movement under suspension load.

Polyurethane reduces this compliance while retaining the factory suspension layout. The firmer bushing material provides more consistent axle control and suspension response, making it suitable for restorations as well as street, autocross, drift, and track-oriented builds.

Because polyurethane is firmer than conventional rubber, a slight increase in noise, vibration, or harshness may be noticeable compared with fresh OE-style rubber bushings.
