These are good quality, just what I needed to finish off the look of my 4runner. These are not a simple sticker over lay that some places might have. These are as close as it gets to oem quality.

Locking Glovebox/Safe Insert – 1984–1989 1st Gen 4Runner & 1984–1988 2nd Gen Toyota Pickup
1st Gen Toyota 4Runners and 2nd Gen Toyota Trucks are notoriously easy to break into, especially if equipped with a Softopper or any other soft top. With the top down, the interior is completely exposed. Even with the top up, a thief only needs to undo two snaps to gain access and unlock the doors.
This 16-gauge steel glovebox insert provides a secure and discreet storage solution inside your factory glovebox. The OEM glovebox is notoriously flimsy, attached to the dash with just two small Phillips screws, and can be pulled out with minimal effort. To prevent that, this insert includes a heavy-duty security cable that loops around the thick steel crossbar behind the dash. If the vinyl trim between the glovebox and dash is still intact, the cable remains completely hidden. Even if someone rips the glovebox out, they’re not walking away with it.
Each insert is laser-cut, CNC press-bent, and hand TIG-welded for a precise, clean fit in the original compartment.
While no system is completely theft-proof, this insert acts as a strong deterrent and adds meaningful peace of mind. Installation is simple with basic hand tools. The only modification needed is a small hole drilled into the back of the glovebox for the cable.
