Overview

The Koyorad HH Series 48mm Aluminum Performance Radiator is a high-capacity direct-fit cooling upgrade for 1984–1988 Toyota 4Runner models equipped with the naturally aspirated 2.4L 22R or 22RE engine and manual transmission.

Built around Koyorad's 48mm HH Series Hyper Core, this all-aluminum radiator increases coolant capacity and heat-transfer surface area compared with a conventional factory-style radiator. Its high-density tube and fin construction is designed to improve cooling performance during demanding street driving, off-road use, towing, slow-speed trail driving, and operation in hot climates.

Vehicle-specific mounting points allow the radiator to install in the factory location while retaining the original cooling-system layout and factory fan shroud.

48mm HH Series Hyper Core

The HH Series uses a 48mm-thick performance radiator core with increased tube and fin density to provide greater coolant volume and heat-transfer capacity.

The larger all-aluminum core is particularly beneficial when the cooling system is subjected to sustained engine load, reduced vehicle speed, high ambient temperatures, towing, or off-road driving where airflow through the radiator may be limited.

This additional cooling capacity makes the radiator well suited to stock and modified 22R and 22RE-powered 4Runners that require greater thermal capacity than a conventional OE-style replacement radiator.
