EBC Yellowstuff Front Brake Pads

For 1979–1995 Toyota Pickup 4WD

Overview

The EBC Yellowstuff Front Brake Pads are a high-friction performance upgrade for 1979–1995 Toyota Pickup 4WD models. Their aramid fiber-based friction compound provides strong braking response from cold while maintaining consistent performance as brake temperatures increase.

Yellowstuff is well suited to Toyota Pickups used for off-road driving, steep grades, larger tires, towing, aggressive street driving, and repeated heavy braking. Unlike compounds that require substantial heat before performing effectively, Yellowstuff provides useful braking response from normal street temperatures.

Multiple front brake configurations were used across the 1979–1995 Toyota Pickup range. Select the correct year range and engine configuration for your vehicle when ordering.

Key Features

  • High-friction aramid fiber-based friction compound

  • Strong initial braking response from cold

  • Designed to resist fade during repeated heavy braking

  • Higher heat capability than conventional street-oriented brake pads

  • Fully shimmed, slotted, and chamfered construction

  • Nucap NRS hook technology helps secure the friction material to the backing plate

  • Brake-In surface coating assists initial pad bedding

  • Suitable for demanding street, towing, off-road, and high-heat driving

  • Vehicle-specific front application for Toyota 4WD pickups

  • Performance-focused alternative to conventional OEM-style replacement pads

Braking Performance

Yellowstuff is designed for drivers who prioritize braking response and heat resistance over minimum brake dust.

The higher-friction compound is particularly useful during repeated stops, mountain driving, towing, off-road use, and other situations that place greater thermal demand on the factory braking system. The compound works effectively from cold while continuing to provide consistent braking as temperatures rise.

Yellowstuff is not considered a low-dust brake pad, so drivers whose primary priorities are minimum dust and quiet everyday operation may prefer a more street-focused compound.

Front Brake Pad Comparison Guide

These front brake pad options provide different balances of street comfort, dust control, braking response, and resistance to repeated heavy braking.

Brake Pad Best For Braking Character Dust Heat Resistance Daily Driving
DFC 5000 Ceramic OEM-style replacement, restorations, commuting Smooth & predictable Very Low Moderate Excellent
EBC Ultimax2 Premium everyday street driving Responsive street feel Low Moderate Excellent
EBC Greenstuff Daily driving, overlanding, mild performance Strong initial bite Low High Very Good
EBC Yellowstuff Steep grades, repeated heavy braking, demanding driving High-friction & responsive Moderate Very High Good

Choose EBC Yellowstuff if:

  • You want a substantial performance upgrade over conventional replacement pads

  • Your truck regularly encounters steep grades or repeated braking

  • You use your Toyota Pickup for demanding off-road driving

  • You want strong braking response without requiring the pads to warm up first

  • Heat resistance is more important than achieving the lowest possible brake dust

For a primarily stock daily-driven truck where quiet operation and low dust are the priorities, DFC 5000 Ceramic or EBC Ultimax2 may be the better choice.Ā
